The following is a message from the City of Plano:
Plano residents and businesses are asked to only water a maximum of -
Winter:
Once per week during the winter between November 1 and March 31 and
• If watering is needed, set your sprinklers to run when the temperature is warmer, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., to avoid icing of streets and sidewalks.
Spring:
Twice per week from April 1 to October 31
Watering between 10 a.m and 6 p.m. is prohibited.
Even Addresses: Residential addresses with an even number (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) as their last digit water Mondays and Thursdays.
Odd Addresses: Residential addresses with an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9) as their last digit water Tuesdays and Fridays.
HOA Schedule: As HOA watering involves watering of their common areas and in many cases the City of Plano right of way (which has no address), all HOA watering and addresses ending in zero follow an EVEN address watering schedule.
Watering Guidelines:
Only water when needed and only on your assigned watering day. You may not need to water if rain is in the forecast. Subscribe to WaterMyYard.org for weekly watering recommendations.
In the Spring, watering with sprinklers between 10 am and 6 pm is prohibited, as these are the hottest hours of the day. Winter watering allows for watering during these hours.
Foundations and landscaping, including grass, shrubs and trees, may be watered for up to 2 hours any day by a hand-held hose or soaker hose.
Low-flow drip irrigation systems may operate as needed.
Excessive water runoff and watering during rain is prohibited.
A variance may be requested to water new landscapes for up to 30 days. Read the Water Variance Procedures (PDF) for instructions. Variances are not required for filling pools.
